The temperature of the freezer is near-perfect, with a range of less than a fraction away from ideal.
The Bosch refrigerator costs more than the GE Appliances version, but it comes with more features. It is worth the extra expense. It has a door-in the door storage area where you can keep small quantities of food in a bin which fits right into the door of the fridge. It also features a convertible compartment with five temperature settings for various types of beverages, snacks and meat. The Bosch fridge also has an intelligent home feature called Home Connect which allows you to control it remotely from your tablet or phone.
The only downsides to this fridge are its thin main drawer and the difficult-to-use door latch on the right. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
LG counter-depth refrigerators pack a lot of storage in small footprints. These counter-depth refrigerators are also cheaper than standard-depth French-door fridges, and they could remove the requirement for an under-counter freezer. LG Smart Mirror InstaView counter-depth refrigerator (LMWC23626S) isn't an exception with the capacity of a standard fridge in a sleek, modern design, with an integrated dispenser that makes it easy to access the water filter.
This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins are roomy and the top shelf can be folded down to create a half-depth shelf that allows taller items to fit. The bottom of the refrigerator is stocked with crisper drawers, and the deli drawer with its full width is perfect for meat or fresh produce.
A recessible ice maker is on the back wall of the refrigerator, which saves space and allows you to store an extra bag of ice. The refrigerator is equipped with door-cooling, which uses vents in the freezer and fridge doors to let cold air enter the refrigerator. It helps prevent hot spots and ensures the temperature of the refrigerator.
This LG refrigerator stands out in our tests, and comes with plenty of space to ensure that your family is well-fed, but it does have some quirks that we found irritating. First the freezer drawers do not stay at the temperature we'd like. The middle drawer was 41 degrees during our maximum testing which is warm enough for ice cream and other frozen foods. The temperature in the rest of the freezer remained at about 36 degrees.
The doors of refrigerators also have handles with sunken handles that are difficult for people with shorter arms to close. This may seem insignificant, but we prefer front-mounted handles on refrigerators to make them easier to open and close.
This refrigerator is expensive, but it's worth the investment for anyone who wants an ultra-modern appearance in their kitchen. This fridge is recommended for those who want to upgrade their existing refrigerator or for those who are building new homes and want a seamless kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Samsung's newest counter-depth French-door fridge model, the RF23M8090SG is priced at $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also performed well in our cooling test, but we don't like the plastic handles or the flimsy crisper bins.
One thing that sets the RF23M8090SG apart is its Bespoke line which lets you personalize your fridge by removing colored panels that can be swapped out when you're tired of the ones you have currently. There are 11 different colors that range from pastels to more bright colors. There are four metallic finishes. Some of the panels can be customized with text or photos which makes the fridge a more personal feature that can be matched to your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.
You can even change the color of the refrigerator's LED lighting, which is pretty. The interior of the fridge has an intelligent finish that reduces the chance of smudges, and also makes cleaning simpler. The only flaws that really bother the RF23M8090SG are its cramped beverage center, and a little learning curve to open the door-indoor feature which houses a water dispenser as well as an ice maker. You need to feel for the lever on the underside halfway down the door. When you locate it, the second door opens up within the fridge, containing the pitcher docking station and the water dispenser.
The 6.8 cubic foot freezer compartment is large enough to store plenty of frozen food. It also has the slide-out drawer, which allows you to access the food you need without opening the entire compartment. There's also a butter-bin-style compartment inside the freezer that allows for simple storage of small items, as well as a large capacity drawer that can hold larger frozen items. The drawer can be locked by using a password to ensure that any unwanted guests are kept out. It also comes with an LED that lets you see what's inside at an instant. The freezer can also monitor energy usage and help you lower your power bill through the SmartThings Energy Mode.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
French door refrigerators are an excellent addition to any kitchen. They are sleek and are suitable for all sizes of rooms. If you're looking for the convenience of this style without the additional height, a counter-depth refrigerator is the best choice. We've tested a lot of them, and this Frigidaire model has a higher than average score in our ratings for its affordable price and thoughtful features such as an adjustable temperature drawer.

It also has a few annoying problems. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF warms up quite some in the freezer, and could get uncomfortable warm in the fridge's innermost shelving. Our heat maps show how the temperature changes minute by minute. reference on the upper right corner, which is the butter bin, has been particularly warm throughout our time of testing. That might not seem so awful at first glance, but it means the fridge is spending a large portion of its time above 33 degrees.
It's also worth noting that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model, which could be a consideration for some buyers. But the real problem here is that it's not a great refrigerator, and the absence of modern features and durable construction makes it difficult to recommend over more expensive options in this price range.
In many ways, this Frigidaire looks and feels like the stainless steel model of fridge you might see in your local appliance store. It's a safe option with a brushed finish that looks good and is impervious to smudges, but it doesn't do much to set itself apart from competitors that are more feature-rich and more affordable.
If you're looking for a counter-depth French-door refrigerator but don't want to spend a lot of money the FGHC2331PF might be worth considering. It's big enough to meet the requirements of the majority of families and does a good job of keeping food fresh. Even even if it's not an energy efficient model, it's considerably less expensive than our best-rated models.
